# Changing the weights for Final grade Calculation

Teachers must set the final grade calculation weights within their gradebook.

For marking period grades teachers can use total points or Category weights depending upon how they are using Gradebook.

For half year courses, for the final grade (S1 for first half of the year and S2 for the 2nd half of the year) the teacher needs to go to Grade Set up and click calculations and then on the final grade they wish to set up. Select Term Weights and change the weights to 40 for each marking period and 20 for the exam. Do the same with the Y1 grade for full year courses assigning 20 to each marking period and 10 for each exam.
